The South African-born artist Kendell Geers (*1968) describes himself as a »Terrorealist«. His art borrows from the radical and insistent formal languages of violence and pornography, yet has an intelligent referential system as a subtext; a system that is often based on language and word-images, integrates references to art and mass culture – and leaves nothing up to chance.
