In his works, Cory Arcangel (*1978, USA) docks onto many kinds of art: new media, appropriation art, Pop, and Conceptual art. The protagonists of his video projections, »hacks« and sound works include Elton John, Super Mario, Bruce Springsteen, Dennis Hopper, the Beatles, Andy Warhol. For Another One Bites the Dust, Arcangel appropriates a picture of Axl Rose wearing custom-made sneakers from the back of the Guns N’ Roses album The Spaghetti Incident?, which features covers of songs by various punk idols.

Recent solo shows of his work have taken place at Kunstverein in Hamburg (2022); Greene Naftali Gallery, New York (2021); Lisson Gallery (2020), Galerie Thaddaeus Ropac, Salzburg (2019), and The Kitchen, New York (2017). Cory Arcangel lives in New York.
